What was the hardest personal goal you’ve set for yourself?

Honestly, setting the goal might be the hardest part. I don’t tend to set personal goals often—not because I don’t want to grow or improve, but because deep down, I know I probably won’t stick to them. Whether it’s budgeting better, sticking to a diet, or finally following that routine I swore I’d start on Monday… it all sounds great in theory. But in practice? Life gets in the way, or I just get in my own way.

Sometimes I wonder why we set goals at all. Maybe it’s our way of trying to control the chaos or create the illusion of progress. Or maybe it’s just hopeful optimism disguised as a checklist. Either way, I’ve learned that small steps—taken without pressure or perfectionism—tend to work better than lofty declarations. So maybe my hardest goal isn’t something I’ve ticked off yet.

Maybe it’s learning to set one and actually trust myself to follow through.
