What alternative career paths have you considered or are interested in?

I always wanted to be a cop — ideally a detective. I was obsessed with profiling, figuring out why people do what they do, and whether we’re born evil or taught to be. Honestly, every millennial went through a criminology phase. We all thought we’d be solving cold cases by now, but realistically maybe 1 in 200 of us actually did anything about it.

I even sat the exam you have to pass before you can apply for the police force, and I went to recruitment seminars for both the police and defence force. I was properly considering it — until I realised 5 a.m. runs, early wake-ups, and being yelled at weren’t exactly my strong suits.

Then there’s farming. Owning a bit of land, raising show sheep — that one’s still on the table.

For now though, I’m in medical administration. Eight years today, actually. Not chasing criminals or sheep yet, but still solving daily mysteries — just with more paperwork and slightly less drama.
