About Me:

Hey, I’m Michelle, and I’m the person behind Lousy Food Banished – part-time food critic, full-time hospital worker, and occasional road trip philosopher. I juggle a “real job” that kindly grants me extra-long weekends every second weekend, which I spend wisely – eating, road tripping, and pretending my photography hobby is more than an excuse to take photos of food before I eat it.

When I am not out reviewing cafes or hunting down brunch spots worth leaving bed for, you’ll find me in my kitchen, because cooking is my therapy (cheaper than actual therapy, with better snacks). I love experimenting with new cooking methods, sometimes with great success, sometimes with the kind of results that stay out of this blog (just kidding). If it’s good enough, I might even share a recipe.

I’ve also got itchy feet – figuratively speaking – thanks to my non existent travel budget. If wanderlust could be booked on lay-buy, I’d be half way around the world by now. But alas, my bank account is more of a concept than a reality. As one of those 30-odd-year-olds mastering the art of surviving day to day, international travel is less “goal” and more “delusional fantasy.” So, for now, Ill stick to exploring local gems, documenting every bite and dreaming of passport stamps i can’t afford – because hope is free, unlike airfares!

Welcome to Lousy Food Banished – where mediocre meals meet their match, and I pretend my life is more together than it actually is.
